Thanks Stephen,
Very interesting little (large) community you have growing here. I hope I'll have time to post some stuff soon.
The photo is me and my Mum at Brands Hatch circa 1970-71. I'm wearing my father's crash helmet, he was racing a BMW 2002 in some club race I believe. Glad you liked it - Think she caused quite a stir in that dress!
Thank you very much Stephen. I don't feel all that inspiring, I am just a man doing what I have to do to live. I have a loving and supportive wife, who quite literally saved my life. (That is a long and wholly other story.) I also so have friends that have been with me through thick and thin.
I was lucky enough to be acquainted with the late Phil Hill who lived here in Santa Monica. On my birthday this past December my wife, Sandy, was taking me to one of our favorite restaurants here in town, Il Forniao. As we passed the Phil Hill room, where Phil had many of his trophies and photos on display, I said; "Someday I want to have a party in that room." She said; "Why not tonight?" I looked in and there were my closest friends, the ones who came to see me in the hospital, the ones who helped me survive and the ones that help me race. Not a big group, maybe a dozen, but it was the best birthday present I could have imagined.
Surviving cancer is a lot like racing; you do what you have to do to make it to the next race.
I am looking forward to enjoying your website. You are providing a wonderful service to our community.
Not officially involved with SVRA. I have a couple of friends who race and I offer moral support. I do not have a vintage machine, rather a 2008 MINI. However, the driver is vintage. You might say I am an enthusiast.
Sorry I missed your call Friday. You can catch me on my cell # today or I'll try to reach you again on Monday.
Hope you are having a great Sunday!
Theresa
PS: Having fun exploring VRL, very cool site with very cool people!
Agreed! Amber has done a fine job. We are careful to put videos on our site if they have any music because of copyright issues. Interested in your thoughts on that.
Stephen,
Put together a few paragraphs about VRL and I will run it in an AARWBA newsletter (I'm the editor). Tell our readers what VRL is all about, why it exists, who should join, benefits of joining and any future enhancements/additional upgrades that may be in the pipeline. Fair enough? Email to me directly, and if possible, send the VRL logo and/or a photo of you.

I don't have any pix of the B.A.T. autos, but the next time I work at the museum, I'll take along my camera and get some pix of the 3 cars & post them on the website.
