About 25 years ago I racer started racing in regional and nation level with SCCA. I was the co-owner of ESSFire.com a manufacturer of fire systems for racing, boating and RV's. I retired from an engineering job with Pacific Bell and went on to become a consultant with Andersen Consulting later Accenture, and now retired from ESS. I"m married and have one son and a daughter-in-law with two great grandkids. My wife and I now spend our time split between grandkids' sports, vintage racing and travelling in our RV.
What car(s) do you own?
I restored a 1962 SVRA Gold Medalion Triumph Spitfire that I originally raced in SCCA GP racing and took to the Runoffs in 2003. I've also raced a 2000 Radical Pro-Sport DSR. Helped my son restore a 1971 Dodge Challenger 440, own a 2010 Porsche 911 Carerra, a 2014 Mini Cooper S, and a Tiffin Breeze RV.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I spend most of my spare time either at the track or in a garage and watching the grandkids sporting events. I'm still a licensed National scrutineer, a national competition license holder , a Steward with SCCA and a member of SVRA. I've been enjoying running in vintage races in California, more recently in New York and Wisconsin and enjoy the idea of low keyed and laid back racing. My wife and I, also, now spend time away from the track and kids travelling the US and Canada.
I also look forward to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion each year which I have run the Spitfire in 6 times. This year, I ran the RMMR, SVRA Speedfest, SVRA US Vintage Gran Prix at Watkins Glen, and VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival - totally busy and fun end of the summer.

What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
One of my greatest pleasures is to teach driving and car control. I taught annually at the SCCA competition licensing school in the S.F. Region. I was also an instructor, when I can find the time, with Hooked On Driving. I've also been fortunate to be asked in the past to help instruct the Western States Automotive Journalist at Laguna Seca before their preview driving of the new cars.
What vintage, histoic, classic etc. cars would you like to own?
At one time I owned a CAV GT40 which I still have a soft spot for and would love to still have it.
Historic Cars Owned
1962 Triumph Spitfire 4 1147cc. This car has a racing history in California at the regional and National level, ran the Oly Sprints, multiple PCRRCs, 2003 Valvoline Runoff, 4 times Western Divisional Championship, Sonoma Historics, Monterey Historics, Wine Country Historics, and multiple RMMRs.
BTW - You and I have similar backgrounds - British Telecom, Consulting industry experience etc :-))
