One of maybe less than six auto historians on territory of former USSR. Created auto journalism in Western sense in Estonia back in 1969. A single scribe who informed western world between 1971-1991 about the USSR´s autos and racing, saw my writings in 18 countries outside of Eastern Bloc. Have written two books on auto history and was included in the worldwide pro jury of the Car of the Century.
Co-winner of the Cugnot Award.
What car(s) do you own?
We have two Nissan Almeras in the family
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Attend concourses, libraries, auto collections and museums. I´m on my way of establishing the former socialist countries best-ever auto publication. Hard-covers, more varied in contents than Automobile Quarterly in your´s.
Russian effort "to do Auto Quarterly" became a joke and the Publishing Group Mediacrat is also in debt of 3 000 000 dollars, Hardly they survive the current crisis.
What clubs do you belong to?
Currently we have none in Estonia. I helped to launch the USSR´s foremost old vehicle club UNIC here in Tallinn back in seventies. Tried to unite it with FIVA, but local commies ended my idea and suggested to calm down.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
To see some vintage racing events
Mereranna tee 4-36
