DAVID TAYLOR commented on Stephen Page's blog post This rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO went for a staggering $48.4 million
"The high price makes these cars too valuable to be uses. Most of them end up in storage under dust sheets never to be raced again. Very sad."

Evad 2

Profile Information

About Me:
While studying engineering in London I designed , built and raced three racing cars with the help of Mike Clive and others.
I then worked for Napiers as an engineer for some years on production of the Deltic engine.
I then formed my own company in the property business building and selling Houses then commercial property.
In 1970 I bought a F1 Cooper BRM and with Roger refurbished it. Sadly it was crashed and scraped but saving the V12 BRM engine and Hewland Gear box.
I bought a BRM P153 tub and suspension wheels etc . My engine fitted so we assembled the car chassis No 004.
We raced it in 1973 and 1974. I sold it then bought a Brabham F2 and raced it for a short period. I have kept an interest in Racing.
What car(s) do you own?
No racing Cars
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
Retired from Racing Cars
What clubs do you belong to?
Use to belong to BARC, Monoposto Register, Aintree Circuit Club
and others.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Historic Cars Owned
Designed and raced Taylor Special, EVAD FJ, and EVAD Sports racing.

BRM P153

I have added some pictures of the BRM P153 I owned and raced in 1972 to 1974.

I had a BRM V12 engine and Hewland gearbox out of the COOPER F1 I owned and was crashed and scrapped.

I bought the BRM P153 tub wheels suspension etc from BRM and we fitted the engine gearbox etc.

I raced it and also had Kim Mather as a driver on occasions who was very good.

We won many races and set the outright lap record at Aintree.

The engine became unreliable after two years so I sold the car.

It is now raced in vintage F1 events.

All good fun
