Leading to the serpentine turn 17 is a hard right hander and should be taken fairly quickly, as the entrance to Serpentine approaches. Turn 18 becomes a test of brakes and nerves as drivers dive for the inside. The best get to pass here as all cars slow drastically as they enter 18, so getting there first is more important than carrying excess speed from 18 into 19.
