Thanks for the welcome! Glad to be here.

Yes, Dr. Hafner told me about your site just the same. I look forward to getting involved. What a great concept.

And I only wish I could claim the 512 in my picture. That was taken at Goodwood Festival in 2007. What a car...

Thanks again.

Stephen I am away from home and office until the 22nd February with trips in Europe then the USA (VA , Fl & CA ) . Will try to add more info on my return . One piece of additional info for you now is that I am a member of the UK Historic Grand Prix Association and raced with them for around 20 years at most of the European Grand Prix Circuits . During that period I raced Maserati 250F, 4CM & 6CM and 250S, Ferrari 246 Dino Grand Prix & 250 SWB . Best of luck with your site . Robin

Good morning Stephen.
All the photos from my page have dissappeared ! Any idea where they might be or how to get them back or even how to re-introduce a photo section to my page?
Kind regards
Conor

Looks like a nice site. Sorry the picture I submitted got the heads of the people cut off. They are ANDY PORTERFIELD, JOE FREITAS and JIM JEFFORDS, all famous Corvette drivers.

ANDY at 79 years is still racing active SCCA today. Over 2500 race starts and 400 plus wins. FREITAS was best friends with Dave MacDonald and bought and raced DAVE'S old 57 and 61 Corvettes.

JEFFORDS raced SCCA from 1955 thru 61 and joined NICKEY CHEVROLET and drove the famous PURPLE PEOPLE EATER Corvettes in 1958, and 59 to SCCA National B/P Championships. Also owned the 56 SR-2 Corvette, and raced on the Chevrolet team in 56 and 57 at Sebring and Nassau. In 1960 he raced the CAMORADI Corvette at Sebring and Cuba. Neat people.

Hi Stephen,
Great site; looking forward to participating more. The answer tp your question about the Lancia photos form Watkins Glen 1980 is that I took them myself. I shot for Associated Press at the Glen from 1974-1981; F1, 6-Hours, &c. I have lots more, but most have not been scanned.
Regards, Ed

thank you so much, Stephen
our special newsletter on the fantastic new cooperation with myVRL
will be published tonight- this will be great news for both of us- then the special invitation to all of subscribers will go out tomorrow night to join the Racingdeal Group...

Today the Publisher from the Sports Car Digest approached me to start a cooperation on content- that means our idea to merge the actual news on all the best events and auctions worldwide with the marketplace and with the community. I think its a very professional source for vintage content- its even more specialised on historic cars like the Automotive Traveller on first sight... what are your thoughts on this ?

sincerely

Kay

Hi Stephen. Thanks for your message. Race Tech has been going for 14 years and in fact we are celebrating our 100th issue in February (which we close for press on Wednesday). The magazine is a technology-led motorsport engineering magazine so looks at the here and now and the tomorrow in terms of racing cars but as with many people in motorsport, I have a deep passion for all veteran, vintage and classic cars, especially racing ones.

Hi, Stephen. Assuming I make it out to PIR next weekend, I'll try to stop by and introduce myself to you.

As for what I do at Cisco, I'm in Sales Management with our Data Center Advanced Technology team. My team covers the West and the South.

See you in Phoenix!

Hi Stephen, great site. Bob Carroll turned me onto it. I love vintage cars and really want to gain more knowledge of vintage racing. I have been a serious autocrosser for over thirty years, won three National Championships. I still own my Lola T-342 Formula Ford, would like to do some vintage racing with it some day. What races are held in the DFW area? I would like to attend and check it out.

I too look forward to meeting you.

Stuart
