Land speed attempt

The greatest achievement in Triumph's first century may have been its dominance in the world motorcycle speed record, which it held for all but 33 days between 1956 and 1970. The motorcycles that set speed records today are built and engineered very differently than they were in that era, and world record speeds are far higher. However, Triumph's ability to build a world-class vehicle remains as strong as ever. That's why Triumph has decided to launch another assault on the 376.363 mph, two-wheel world land speed record, with sponsorship from Infor.

Renowned high-speed daredevil Guy Martin will be the driver for this attempt, steering a highly specialized vehicle built with a carbon fiber shell and two powerful Triumph engines powered by methanol. The attempt will be recorded for television and broadcast as part of Guy's popular program on Channel 4 in the UK and the Discovery Channel worldwide.
