To all,

This is a fantastic video taken by a racer in 1958 - just one year after the Bridgehampton Race Circuit opened.  The quality of the film is very good, considering the original 8mm footage from which the DVD / Video was made is over 50 years old!

This was "The Bridge" at its most austere.  Sand everywhere - and plenty on the track!  No pit structures.  No Chevron drive over bridge or Pirelli walk over bridges. Small grandstand sections set back along the main straight.  Great cars that are vintage now but state of the art then.  I wonder how many of them are still in running order today?

This is worth 10 minutes of your time.  A real presentation of what racing was like at the track that was born prematurely, perpetually underfunded, and yet considered by many to be one of America's - the worlds! - most challenging circuits.

Enjoy the film. I know I did!

Andy
