Early Results from Mecum Kissimmee: Dragonsnake sells for $875,000

As of this writing, we have early results from Mecum‘s Kissimmee, Florida, sale from this past weekend. By Sunday morning (the last day of the auction), gross sales had surpassed $32 million; on Saturday alone the company experienced a 74 percent sell-through rate. High sale of the auction at that point had been a $975,000 hammer price for a 1996 Riva Aquarama Special (boat), but topping the ground transportation list was the 1963 Cobra Dragonsnake (CSX 2093) formerly driven by Bruce Larson, which sold for $875,000 – a bit off from the $1,417,000 hammer price back in pre-recession 2007, but a strong selling price nonetheless! We should be seeing complete sale results within the next 24 hours, at which point we’ll pass along some highlights.
