Techie Nerd, Gearhead, Watch Collector, Electro/Photo Hobbyist, and MBA/CPA Consultant. Performance driver wannabe, but not willing to make the risk/return (and too old) to be competitive.
What car(s) do you own?
Nothing you would call vintage.
For fun: '01 BMW Z8 & '99 BMW M Coupe
Daily Drivers: '05 BMW 530i & '08 MiniCooper S
Yes, they are all Bimmers, and all 4 are silver with black interior - kinda weird, huh?
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
For participation: Go to track events (HSDE) on interesting tracks, ideally in modern cars, and best of all - in cars provided by the event holder.
Have driven Motorsports Ranch, Eagles Canyon, Laguna Seca, BMW Spartanburg, Michelin Tire Proving Grounds, Nurburgring current F1 track, but mostly, the 'Ring Nordschliefe (north loop, 7 3-day schools).
As a spectator: F1, Road Races, Big Ovals, and even Drag Strips. Loved the Goodwood Revival - retro dress-up and all.
What clubs do you belong to?
BMW Car Club of Europe - Z8 Owners Club, and the BMW Car Club of America
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Driving schools and/or HSDEs, exhibitions (Pebble Beach, Quail Lodge, Concorso Italiano, etc.) and generally hang-out with gearheads that have a historical perspective.
What vintage, histoic, classic etc. cars would you like to own?
1886 Benz Patentwagen, (world's 1st car), Fort GT, AC Cobra, and in my wildest dreams, a '95 McLaren F1.
Historic Cars Owned
I wish I'd kept my '66 Sunbeam Tiger. It wasn't historic when I had it, but 2 of them did run at LeMans.
