Vic Elford in a factory Alfa T33/TT/3 at Sebring 1972

Vic Elford, known to many as Quick Vic, drove this factory Alfa Romeo T33/TT/3 at Sebring in 1972. He and co-driver Helmut Marko failed to finish the race due to engine problems. The winning car was a Ferrari 312PB driven by Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx. In 1972 the FIA mandated a reduced engine limit of 3-liters so Porsche decided not to enter the championship that year but instead concentrated on making cars for the Can-Am series where their 917-10s and 917-30s dominated.
