Lee Duran, a dedicated and well respected vintage racer died at this corner on the Saturday before Labor Day, 2014. To honor Lee, the people in charge of the event ran two pace laps, with the first lap showing the "missing man formation" as seen in this photo.
Everyone who knew Lee was shocked and saddened by his tragic racing accident.
I know we all send our prayers and best wishes to the friends and family of this true gentleman. We are all diminished by the loss.
