To me it seemed that Jo Siffert was looking directly at me when I took this photo of him at Daytona in 1970. Siffert and Brian Redman were driving this JWA Gulf Porsche 917K at Daytona and it was the first time any of us had seen the new and now legendary 917. Siffert and Redman would go on to finish in second place behind team mates Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen in another 917. BTW, that winning 917 is now owned by Bruce Canepa and is valued at $10 million.
