Eddie Kuzma gained his notoriety when he built the Agajanian Special that won the 1952 Indy, the last dirt racer to win at Indy. The Kuzma/Offy roadsters in the 50's and early 60's were often in the front row and/or top 3 finishers at Indy, but his biggest success was on the dirt. In his early days, he pretty much designed and built the whole car, in the late sixties and early seventies, he worked with Clint Brawner and A.J. Foyt, fabricating the aluminum monocoque Coyote that won in 1967 and Brawner/Hawk that won Indy in 1969.
In the 1950s and 60s, Kuzma's dirt champ cars dominated with the likes of Jimmy Bryan, Johnny Thomson, Eddie Sachs, Jim Hurtubise, Mario Andretti, etc. at the wheel.
2003 Eddie Kuzma was inducted into the Indy Hall Of Fame along with Colin Chapman and Roger McCluskey.
