(20"x30" Giclee Print on Fine Art Paper or Kodak Metallic Photographic Paper Palette Texture.)

Jo Siffert and Brian Redman drove this Gulf Porsche 917K at Sebring in 1970. The car did not finish due to accident damage. The Gulf Porsche team was victorious at Daytona one month earlier but a problem with faulty wheel hubs prevented the other team car from winning. The Rodriguez - Kinnunen 917 was actually leading very late in the race when they had to pit due to a faulty wheel hub. It was their third wheel hub replacement and they ended up fourth at the end of the race. Mario Andretti won the race in a Ferrari 512 with the Steve McQueen - Peter Revson Porsche 908 coming in second. This photo was taken on the back airport runway that is almost one mile long and where they can achieve speeds of over 200 m.p.h

Thanks  I had a wonderful experience creating the artwork.  There will be more from Sebring to come ... as you may have noticed the piece is currently on display at the Sebring corporate media room.  Ken Breslauer has been very gracious and supportive of my artwork.  Unfortunately the folks at Sebring lost many of their historical archives several years ago due to a hurricane.  Phil
