Thanks for the comment Marc. This shot was 1/125 fixed shutter, with auto aperture for f14. I don't own any high quality "fast" lenses, so I tend to take more panning shots than head on images. I've tried using a polarizing filter during bright light day with very poor outcomes. I haven't tried using a ND filter for racing images yet. I've found I can capture a little panning blur with 1/125. On really fast sections of track with quick cars, like Champ cars or Formula racers you can take the speed up to 1/250 and still get some nice motion blur. I've tried taking the speed down to 1/60th on panning shots, but find it difficult to hold a sharp focus at that speed.

Again VERY nice shots Mike, thanks for posting! Did you take this set with about 1/60 fixed shutterspeed dragging the cam along with the motion? And with approx 135-200 mm focal length? Do you use an ND filter when the light is too bright to work with longer shutterspeed?... Or is this the chefs little secret? ;-)
