1971 Daytona 24 - Leading Gulf Porsche 917K in the pits

Tension was very high as the Gulf Porsche mechanics try to rebuild the transmission on the leading 917. They were ahead of the pack by 200 miles but as each minute passed the Ferrari 512 of Tony Adamowicz and Ronnie Bucknum ate up that lead. Finally after 92 minutes in the pits the transmission was fixed and Pedro Rodriguez was given the orders to catch up to and regain the lead now lost to the Ferrari. In one of the great drives of his career he did so and finally passed the Ferrari to win the race in the closest Daytona 24 up to that point in time. That's David Yorke with his hands on his hips and, of course, the pack of photographers documenting every moment.
