About Us
The Mid-Ohio School provides professional driving and riding instruction to drivers and motorcyclists of all skill levels. Students enjoy classroom sessions, skill drills, expert private instruction and lapping at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course – the same famed track that challenges the world’s top racers.

Mission
The Mid-Ohio School offers entertaining, exciting and innovative automotive and motorcycle programs in a safe environment that maximize driving and riding time while developing the skills of participants from all levels of experience through top-notch, professional instruction.

History
To expand its use beyond motorsports entertainment and to promote driver safety, especially among teenagers, TrueSports, Inc. created The Mid-Ohio School in 1993 with the Honda Teen Defensive Driving Program as its cornerstone. Five courses were offered the first year. In 1994, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. began its partnership with The Mid-Ohio School, which continues today. In 2006, The Mid-Ohio School expanded even further, launching a motorcycle riding division. The addition of this discipline to The Mid-Ohio School made it the first and only school in the nation to cater to both motorcycling and driving enthusiasts

Location
The Mid-Ohio School is based at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Located 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles south of Cleveland, the track has been called the “most competitive in the U.S.” and annually hosts a diversity of locally, regionally and nationally sanctioned racing events for amateur, club and professional drivers and riders. A comprehensive motorsports facility, the 330-acre Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course complex features a permanent road-racing circuit with two primary configurations: a 2.4-mile, 15-turn, and a 2.25-mile, 13-turn circuit.

Courses
The Mid-Ohio School offers 15 courses on the automobile side and five Performance Track Riding formats on the motorcycle side to address the specific needs of a wide variety of drivers and riders.

Students
New and experienced drivers, riders and amateur and professional racers from across the country attend The Mid-Ohio School each year. Approximately 31,500 students have graduated from The Mid-Ohio School, including 10,500 teenagers.

Instructors
The Mid-Ohio School features a talented and diverse staff of driving instructors. Collectively their professional credentials include more than 20 racing championships and over 150 professional race wins. Among them, they have 38 CART Champ Car starts, two Formula One Starts, five Indianapolis 500 starts, two Formula Atlantic Championships, and five Trans-Am victories as well as IndyCar, NASCAR, Formula One, American Le Mans, Grand-Am, Formula Atlantic and SCCA experience.

Vehicles
Students participating in the driving school may use their own street-legal car or one of The Mid-Ohio School’s official cars: Honda Civic EX Coupes, Acura TSX A-SPECs and Honda S2000 roadsters.

Special Designations
The Mid-Ohio School is accredited by SCCA Club Racing, National Auto Sport Association and the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association.
