Event Description

Announcing the 27th running of the Lime Rock Park Vintage Festival on 4-7 September 2009. There is nothing like the perfect late-summer afternoons that the Northwest corner of Connecticut produces, and with a breath-taking collection of cars taking to the track, there’s no better way to spend Labor Day weekend. Discover the glamour, glory and style of historic and vintage sports cars as they claim focus of the event both on track, in the fan-friendly paddock and during the prestigious Sunday in the Park Automotive Extravaganza car show.

Race groups will include pre-war and pre-1949 sports and racing cars, pre-1960 sports racing cars, large and small bore production to 1964, large and small bore production through 1976, Formula Junior, Formula Ford, early Formula B, FIA and Can-Am 1965-1979, pre-1966 sports/racing cars and we are considering a Formula Atlantic group.

Sunday in the Park – the East Coast’s primary automotive extravaganza will be open to all who wish to enter in 2009.

Comment by Fred Jackson on May 11, 2009 at 11:40pm: Re; Lime Rock Vintage Festival. This years event is being produced by Murray Smith, the well known vintage racer and Lime Rock competitor. In addition to the regular eight race schedule, this year will see the addition of one hour Enduros on both Saturday and Monday. We'll also be celebrating 100 years of the Morgan Motor Company - all Morgan owners are encouraged to join us. Check with your club or with the track. There will be several club corrals, Morgan, PCA, Corvette. Lotus, BMW, Mini and others. All owners are welcome to join the corrals. Check with the track for tix and timing.
For Mercedes fans, Murray has arranged to have one of the great pre-war Silver Arrows, a W-154 - 500hp and 200+mph, on exhibition, maybe even on the track.. And our Sunday in the Park show, sponsored by Road&Track, has developed into the premier car show in the Northeast. If you've got a keeper, bring her to Lime Rock on Sunday the 6th of Sept. We'll have lots of awards, great crowds and a lovely day in the beautiful foothills of the Berkshires.

We hope to see lots of Vintage Racing League members at LRP on Labor Day weekend. Don't miss it !
