Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Henri Pescarolo drove this 3-liter V12 Matra MS650 at Daytona in 1970. In this photo the MG B of Chris Waldron and Lowell Lanier went a little too wide in turn three and looks like he might pass on the outside of the Matra.
The Matra finished 18th and the MG B finished in 21st place.

Absolutely.  I was a poor college student who couldn't afford a ticket to the race so I joined SCCA and became a licensed corner worker.  I was Corner Captain on turn three which was also known as the International Horseshoe.  When not on corner duty I pulled out the great SLR camera I got when I did a tour of duty in Vietnam and took pictures.  I had a very limited budget for film and did not take a lot of photos like a pro would back then.  BTW, note the fact that I was in the middle of the infield.  Workers were assigned to that area and made it possible for me to get some great shots of the cars.
