Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix President and Race Director Mike Connolly was deeply sadened to hear of the news stating "Myron is the Patron Saint of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, his memory will be a permanent part of our event."<br /> <br /> Dan Torisky, Autism Society of Pittsburgh president and Grand Prix organizer recalls "Myron did more than lend his name to our event, he gave his time and his personal influence to help us get started back in 1982. And over the years as a working volunteer he inspired us all. Until his recent health problems, Myron was very active as the spokesperson of the Grand Prix and his two favorite charities; Allegheny Valley School and the Autism Society of Pittsburgh."<br /> <br /> Allegheny Valley School CEO Regis Champ said "Myron Cope was a true friend to Allegheny Valley School and the Grand Prix, he will be missed terribly. His affiliation with us began more than a quarter of a century ago when his son Danny became a resident. Through his creation of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, he brought awareness of and financial support to Allegheny Valley School. In 1996, Myron’s gift to us of The Terrible Towel trademark has created a living legacy to his incredible life. He tirelessly supported our mission to provide quality services to children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and we are most grateful for all of his efforts.
