As this weekend's British Grand Prix gathers pace, and in line with Kimi Raikkonen's recent appearance with James Hunt logos on his Bell helmet, our theme for tonight's show is indeed that astonishingly fast Englishman who won the World Championship in 1976. James Hunt was adored by most who knew him, particularly on his home turf - and the memories will soon become vidid as the Ron Howard movie, "Rush", hits the cinemas. Tonight, therefore, in addition to our regular panelists, we will meet Andrew Marriott (ARM of Motoring News in James' day and the host of Silverstone TV this weekend) and one of James' sons, Tom. Craig Scarborough will also be talking us through the day's tech details; Yas Marina Circuit CEO and former Toyota Team Manager,, Richard Cregan, will again join us on the panel; and Rob Wilson, whose band, Grand Prairie, will be playing immediately after the show, tonight joins us on the panel with his usual insight. Rob, too, has fond memories of James Hunt.
Subscribe to F1 Magazine - http://www.themagazineshop.com/FONE/T
http://www.f1racing.co.uk/global-fan-... Alastair talks about his early days in NZ (including the untimely death of his brother, Bill); his first job at McLaren Racing; the adventures prior to his first Grand Prix (Monza, 1967); Bruce's first win with his own car (Spa, 1968); Bruce's fatal accident at Goodwood; and about some of the major behind-the-scenes incidents of 1976, including tyre "modifications" and the fuel drama at Monza. Alastair also talks about his respect for Adrian Newey and about his passion in recent years - classic car rallies. Maintaining the McLaren theme, we also talk to the winner of last Sunday's Mid-Ohio IndyCar race, Charlie Kimball. Charlie's father, Gordon, was a leading design engineer at McLaren before switching to other teams and ultimately setting up his own company.
Subscribe to F1 Magazine - http://www.themagazineshop.com/FONE/T...
http://www.f1racing.co.uk/global-fan-... Richard unearthed a massive amount of new film material for the recent - and highly-acclaimed - BBC TV documentary about James Hunt and Niki Lauda and has plenty of mouth-watering ideas about the still-unseen (and until now forgotten) motor racing material that lies out there in film studios, TV networks or even private attics around the world. ln concert with that, we also talk to former Lotus (and McLaren) engineer, Steve Hallam, about working with Ayrton Senna in 1985 - the year Ayrton won his first GP with John Player Team Lotus. A student of the sport with a vivid memory for detail, Steve paints a lucid picture of Ayrton's sensitivity and spacial awareness. Finally, as F1's sleepy August break gives way to the weekend's activities in the Ardennes forest, in Spa, Belgium, we call in on Mark Webber for a light-hearted chat. In "Not the F1 Interview" Mark talks about the woes of Australian cricket, his yearnings to visit new countries, learning to fly helicopters and the menagerie that now populates the Webber household.

Subscribe to F1 Magazine - http://www.themagazineshop.com/FONE/T...

http://www.f1racing.co.uk/global-fan-...
