Yenko on the Podium at the PVGP 2010!

An interview with Logan Dernoshek from Charlotte NC. His #37 1966 Yenko Stinger got on the Podium at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix soon after this interview.

The current owner of the car is also the ORIGINAL OWNER who purchased it off the Yenko Showroom floor new in 1966. Logan's father was THE original mechanic on this Yenko Corvair. This interview was done before Logan had his 2nd place podium finish at BeaveRun in his 1966 "Yenko Stinger"

1966 Ford GT40 MKV owned by Racer Robert Anderson. Robert raced in Group 4: Trans Am at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Historic Races at BeaveRun.

The Trans Am series is the Post 1960 Production cars over 2.5 Litres, featuring American muscle cars such as Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Cobra, GT40 along with Porsche and Datsun. Post 1960 Sports racers over 2 Litres.
VRG Classes C4, E1, F1, and F2.

As you can hear in the interview this Mk V is a very rare car: only about 37 where made in production. This car raced at the Targa Florio

PVGP 2011 BeaveRun-Driver John Bechtol interview

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix driver, John Bechtol from Pittsburgh PA, and his #12 1973 Zink Z-11 FSV won the Group 2: Formula and Sports Racers at BeaveRun in 2010. It was an "All Pittsburgh" podium for the first time.
John talks about his family and friends involvement in the PVGP and tell us a little bit about their "Scuderia Gia Doro". You should also know that John & his wife (& fellow racer) Dotti with fellow racer Joe Mendel and his wife Rosemary host the PVGP event on Wednesday's night of Race Week: "Tune-up at Bossa Nova"

PVGP BeaveRun 2010 Driver Jack Miller interview

The Nimrod NRA/C2 was the only Group C racing car ever built by Nimrod Racing Automobiles in partnership with Aston Martin. It ran initially in 1982 in the World Sportscar Championship before also joining the IMSA GT Championship. The final NRA/C2 would be retired in 1984 after the planned NRA/C3 replacement had been cancelled and the company went bankrupt.

In 1983 Nimrod Racing would turn to the IMSA GT Championship in North America with two cars evolved into the B-spec bodywork, while EMKA Racing would take over Aston Martin's efforts in Europe with their own Group C car. Viscount Downe would remain in the World Sportscar Championship with their lone entry as a privateer.

Nimrod suffered throughout the season in North America, earning their only success as the 12 Hours of Sebring with a fifth place finish, third in the GTP class. For the rest of the season the NRA/C2 would struggle to finish and Nimrod was forced to abandon the series towards the end of the year.

The NRA/C2, in this video, was sold to Jack Miller's privateer team while Nimrod returned to Europe. Miller's Performance Motorsports finished off the season with an eighth place finish at the Daytona Finale. Even with the troubles, Aston Martin took fifth in the GTP constructors championship
