Greetings Daniel, Sorry to be so long in commenting and Thanking you for your kind words on the 76' Tyrrell P-34 carving. I've been so busy carving for shows, I rarely get to go back and see the comments. I'll strive to do better in the future, but wanted to make sure that you know I certainly appreciate your acknowledgement of my work! Please have a Wonderful Day and Keep the Revs Up!!!  Gary (The Carver)

Hello Daniel Mensinger,

Good to know that there's another SHADOW appreciator out there. I'd certainly be interested in any photo's of Shadow race cars that you may have. I'm intending to draft out a book outline about the history of the Shadow marque in CanAm, F1 and F5000 and would be interested in receiving contributions from people, particulalry rare or unseen or detailed pictures.

Kind regards,

Dr Paul F.

That would be great Daniel. We always need grid sheets, entry lists and other documentation on 'pro' races or on Nationals. All sorts of interesting things raced at Riverside!

Great to meet you in Monterey as well! Me and my Typhoon will keep racing--as long as the oil says in the car ;)

I would be interested to know if you have any Rodriguez photos from the end of the 50s into the 60s at Riverside and Laguna Seca? You may not go that far back! Best wishes

Daniel,
Your photos bring back alot of memories...I worked for Andretti, and Lyn StJames (probably had one of the most famous incidents at Riverside) as well as D*** Simon...oh so many others! Socialized with Linda, go karted with Paul Newman, on and on, those were some fun times...Thanks again for reviving the memories!
I too went to Monterey and Sonoma this year, what a hoot!
Planning on going next year, well to many events next year
(as a participant).
As you know, after a 30 year career in professional motorsports,
I am directing my experience toward the restorationand preparation
of vintage racecars for those who race them!
It is my intention to have one of my "hallmark" restoration projects
compete at Monterey and Sonoma. As well as events in the HSR
and Bobby Rahal's new HMP series!
I will keep you posted...referrals are always welcome!
Thanks again!

Daniel, good to hear from you. I am sure you did see my 510 at Riverside many years ago. I looked diffrent when I ran it at Riverside. I had it painted more like the BRE paint theme and I believe it was # 64 at that time. When I went totally thru the car we changed it to the paint theme it has today. I really like it and it is diffrent than most. I hope to run the car next year in Montrey. I love that track and ran it many many times since I lived in San Mateo until moving here to Henderson, NV in 1992. I miss the old days it was much more fun to run with the old pro's. I use to run this car in the IMSA and Trans Am in the 70's and early 80's. I won the SF SCCA region twice when I lived in the bay area. I get up there a lot since my daughter lives there so that is why i want to come back to Laguna and Sears Point and run it next year if possible. Look forward to meeting you some time in the future.

Ted
