Stephen, thanks to your assistance I got the vintage oval track wheel rolling!

There are quite a few myvrl members who indicate that they have an interest in this subject and/or own vintage oval track race cars. I'll browse the Members section and send an invite to them.

Hey, thanks for the invite! What exposure did you have to the RCCA? I'm glad to see your Vintage Oval Track Racing group as I raced at the fabled Islip Speedway back in the day! I grew up in Islip Village about 2 miles from the track! Maybe I can dig up some pix of my stock car racing says. I also was a big fan of the ARDC Midgets that raced at the speedway! Got some great memories of guys like Dutch Shaeffer and Bing Metz (anybody remember the cabover midget or the evinrude outboard motor powered midget?)

Hi Paul,
I seem to recall televised events (ESPN?) where RCCA competed along with other classes. It was my first memory of watching open-wheel Formula cars compete on short track ovals. They were/are fast!!

I have come across several vintage websites having details and photos of Islip while browsing the internet. Please post any photos or information you have.
