SUMMARY:Texas Museum of Automotive History - Opening Gala
DESCRIPTION:\nAutomobile racing started in Fair Park in 1901 and culmi
 nated with the staging of the United States Formula One race in Fair P
 ark during the summer of 1984.\nWe are working with the City of Dallas
 , Dallas Parks and Recreation Department\nto build a world-class Museu
 m of Automotive History in Fair Park and eventually stage a Vintage Ra
 ce and Concours event weekend.\nThe operating goal of the Museum is to
  become recognized as one of the top 10 Automotive Museums in the worl
 d. The Museum will provide attendees with an overview of the history o
 f the automobile from 1901 to 1984, and showcase the interaction betwe
 en racing and commercial car development during that period.\nThe Muse
 um will feature an open restoration capability, (“The Restoration Fa
 ctory”). The Restoration Factory will employ “at risk” youths an
 d will function to educate and provide a career path for selected indi
 viduals. Four year graduates will be placed in local automotive busine
 sses or they will be assisted in funding their college education.\nTMA
 H Opening Party\nSaturday November 20th, 2010 - 7:00pm – 10:00pm\n30
