SUMMARY:Horsepower for History Concours d'Elegance
DESCRIPTION:The Horsepower for History Concours d'Elegance\n\nHedges B
 oyer Park (across from the YMCA)\n\nTiffin, Ohio\n\nAugust 22th, 2009\
 n\nConcours event 1:00pm -6:30pm\n\nMovie \"LeMans\" at Ritz Theatre s
tarts at 7:30\n\nInformation at www.putschracing.com simply click conc
ours logo\n\n\n\n\nThe Horsepower for History Concours d’Elegance wi
ll feature the best European and American cars of the last 100 years.
You are just as likely to see new exotic cars like Ferrari and Aston M
artin as you are to see the classics form the 1920-30’s like Auburn
and Cadillac.\nThe idea behind this event is simple. It uses people's
love for these cars and the cultures they came from, so we may take a
second look at our American history. The event will help stir historic
preservation awareness and benefit the preforming arts. All effort is
voluntary and all proceeds will benefit the \"Ritz Theatre\" (non-pro
fit 501c3).\nThe event will have more interest than just what caters t
o the \"car guy\". Enjoy a summer evening in the park with a music, It
alian food, homemade ice cream and root beer, new Mercedes display, mu
seum displays, historic demonstrations, WWII flyovers, etc. You may ex
pect to see the only surviving 1917 Tiffin Economy Car as well as demo
nstrations on a newly restored 1886 high-wheel bicycle, and the Tiffin
glass museum will be out to display the city’s fine glass heritage.
At the end of the concours, a police escort will lead the show cars t
o The Ritz Theatre where the street will be closed off to outside traf
fic. At 7:30 everyone who both brought a show car and who went to the
concours as a spectator will be treated to a private screening of the
1971 movie \"LeMans\" starring Steve McQueen! The concession stands wi
ll be open as well and you will enjoy the beautiful theatre as it is r
estored to the same glory that it opened with in 1928.\nAugust 23th wi
ll be the driving tour for special cars. We will meet in the morning o
n Sunday at the Seneca County Museum for a private tour and a light br
eakfast. The tour will depart via police escort out of town and on to
some fantastic country roads. On the journey, there will be a break at
an 1800’s Indian Mill, and we will cross a covered bridge on our wa
y to end up at Seneca Hill Golf Course for lunch in the historic banqu
et room. The tour will also visit the Seneca County airport for a priv
ate tour of their restoration facilities, prop shop, and vintage aircr
aft.\nShow information at www.putschracing.com Simply click the large
