DESCRIPTION:In 1905, the motoring community of Chicago had a problem. 
 Although they were able to travel within the urban areas. Poor signag
 e and impassable roadways made it difficult for people to drive to lo
 cations beyond. That year, a Clement – Bayard automobile dealer pro
 duced four books to different localities that were popular. He picked
  the most passable roads in all types of weather then photographed eac
 h turn and confusing intersection with mileages and landmarks to assis
 t the driver. The photographic automobile guidebook was born. 111 yea
 rs later, the Fox Valley Chapter of the Illinois Region of the AACA a
 nd the Chicago Map Society invite you to revisit the route in its ent
 irety. Travel with us on this overnight, multi – club event as we br
 idge over a century of motoring. Included for every vehicle will be a
  wonderful book written by the Map Society showing side by side the o
 riginal photos and the same shot 100 years later. See in the photos, 
 and for yourself how things have changed, and have stayed the same, wi
 th stops along the way. And as a special bonus, join us in the event f
 or a presentation by the Map Society on the background and history of
