The VRL works

Just to say thank you to the VRL.

I am restoring a 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster and have been looking for a rotary dail light switch, flasher switch and parking light choice switch for over 6 months. I search on Google, Ebay, Mercedes Club sites, went to swap meets, asked my contacts in Europe all without any luck of finding my parts.

By signing up to the VRL and the different Groups it took me less then 1 day to find the parts I needed. Todd Jenkins referred me to Dave at Lyco who… Continue

The Restoration of a 1957 Mercedes 300 sL Roadster

The NTX Automotive Museum is currently in the process of restoring a 300 SL Roadster. 17 years ago this car was parked in a barn because of a blow head gasket. When found piston No.3 was totally locked up inside the cylinder because of the old type coolant used back in the day. When pooling the piston we found out that this was already the 1st oversize and the drilled the cylinders in a cone shape. Now with the 2nd oversize it turns like she is new. Look at: http://www.myvrl.com/photo/austin-healey-club-stand-at-2?context=latest

Breakthrough idea:

We need to ask each Car Club and ask them to help design their car stand in the Museum + donate the artifacts to create a world class exhibit.

Your thoughts ?

Hi Wilbert! Nice to meet you. Checked your website, very nice museum and collection you have! I was stunned reading that you have been searching so long for MB 300 SL parts and that you foud them thru myvrl so quick! Beautiful restoration project such a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL roadster: my favourite classic - YES the roadster, NOT the gullwing! The car combines the best features a classic can have - German engineering, French/Italian flair, classic British driving experience and sound... and that in one car! Keep us posted on the project!
