The groundhog was right – winter’s dragging on. We’ve very nearly forgotten what it’s like to open up the windows and let the breeze tumble in as we go for a nice long, tire-squealing drive in the country, but we can easily imagine how that drive would go in this 1967 Austin Cooper S for sale on Hemmings.com, which looks like it’s just as ready for spring as we are. From the seller’s description:

This is a British Motor Heritage verified Factory Cooper S, with a numbers-matching 1,275cc engine! Super-cool classic car that will hold its own in any collection, car show or rally.

The exterior is excellent, with very good paint, just a couple of small chips and one tiny area of what appear to be two very small rust “bubbles” under the paint, on the rear tailgate, near the bottom, next to the hinge.

The interior is exceptional; the seats, headliner, dashboard, rear shelf, etc, all in flawless condition. Pay close attention to the material used as the secondary tone; it’s gray with gold detail.

Mechanically, the car is also excellent. Starts right up, all the lights work, it handles like you’d expect and the brakes are well maintained.

This Mini was given a ground-up restoration, which was completed in December 1992 and has had just one owner for almost twenty years.

The new owner will get a file full of photos, receipts and other documents, detailing several decades of history. There’s also a reproduction owner’s manual and parts catalog.
