I am the daughter of a retired automotive executive who grew up going to auto shows and playing auto bingo. Along with writing a Local News column for The Seattle Times, I write about the world-class vintage-car community here, and its presence at Pebble Beach and Laguna Seca.
What car(s) do you own?
Daily driver is a 1995 BMW station wagon, which is a joy, and the aforementioned P1800 lives in my backyard, waiting for that sunny day.
What do you like to do (e.g. vintage race with...)?
I love the stories behind cars. The barn finds, the restorations, the parts that seemed impossible to find, but then showed up at the last minute. I love the way people talk about their cars like they were family members ... which they are, right?
What clubs do you belong to?
BMW Owners, once belonged to SOVREN and Volvo Owners Club here in Seattle, and an automotive-writer group.
What would you like to do (e.g. go to race school; get into Vintage Racing)?
Go to Pacific Raceways here in the Seattle area, go to Monterey every August. LOVE going to Laguna Seca and getting as close to the track as possible. Does anything smell or sound better?
