Comment by Conor O'Brien on January 13, 2009 at 10:08am: For those of you who are interested, John (Smokey) Rhodes, see the photo at the top of this Group, Co Drove my Mini Cooper S at Brands Hatch with me in 2006. Sadly he was pushed off the circuit by a Camaro, through no fault of his own and suffered blindness in one eye. He was 79 at the time and last year he drove a, rather engine sick, Competition Mini Cooper S up the Hill at Goodwood. John was British Saloon Car Champion 1964 to 1968 and European Champion in 1968 all in a Works Mini Cooper S. There is a page devoted to him on my website : for those of you interested.
