Great photos,Steve. Thanks for letting us west-coasters see what F5000 cars still look like. We miss them out here. Good to see them being used correctly.

Nice it looks good. Here is a shot of the car in the pits at Riverside.

Hi Dennis - sorry, but I prefer to keep them in one place online, as it makes it easier to track and sort out illegal use of them. Nevertheless, they are there for everyone to enjoy and just as easily viewable via this link as they would be on this site. Please let me know if - for any reason - you have problems viewing them via the link. Take care, Peter

So can anyone tell me if the Steed, Boraxo, Vicroy (any of the 3), or Shadows run at vintage events or are they MIA or static pieces someplace?

Peter.
Can you post the images to this site?

We did have F5000 featured in 2008 for the Wine Country Classic but the field was rather lackluster. I was hoping to see some of the key cars the Steed, Boraxo, or Vicroy Lolas possibly Al Unsers old car or maybe a Shadow. We did have the Interscope Lola and and Eagle.
I did see the F5000 at Riverside in 74 and they allowed USAC Indy cars to compete as well so if they need to fill a field it's possible. In fact in that race Al Unser qualified Dan Gurney's USAC car higher than his two F5000 Eagles.

The F-5000 group uses an image from Laguna Seca yet they do not even come out west for an event. Note the spectators and cars o n the hill behind what was then turn nine. There must be at least a dozen F-5000 cars in Southern and Northern California it seems that an event would be possible? This was always a hi-point race in the old days and could be again.
