Most people have enormous passion and nostalgia for their first car. They can remember every detail about the car and the way it came into their ownership. They frequently restored the car with their parents, relatives or with a friends help. The restoration experience created a deep and lasting bond between the parties involved and the car.
Decades later, these same people are searching for their "first car". They want to re-acquire that car as a tribute to the passion, nostalgia and excitement they felt for the vehicle. Barrett-Jackson is working with the Vintage Racing League to build the world's largest social network for people that love cars. 10 million people world-wide own vintage cars. We have created a platform for vintage car owners (and millions of vintage car fans) to find and communicate with each other.

Members can post photos and videos, join car marque groups and find resources for apparel, parts, services, wheels, tires, engines and automotive memorabilia.
There are an estimed 4 million vintage car owners in the USA and 10 million world-wide.
Our objective is to create a community for vintage car enthusiasts and provide a world-class platform (MyVRL) for them to communicate with each other.

There are 27 Vintage Racing Clubs in the USA that stage approximately 170+/- Vintage Racing events each year. In total, less than 30,000 vintage car owners race their cars in the US.
There are approximately 500 Car Clubs in the UK & Europe and many more Vintage Racing and Concours events.
One of MyVRL's primary objectives is to educate more vintage car owners about Vintage Racing - where the clubs are located and when the events are staged.

What began as a simple meeting between two car buffs in 1960 has emerged over some 47 years into one of the world's most prestigious and anticipated collector car auctions and expositions.
It began in Scottsdale, Arizona-a Wild-West town that had yet to spread its wings and create its own identity. The two participants were Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett, drawn together by a car advertised for sale. It seems Mr. Barrett was selling his 1933 Cadillac V-16 Town Car, and it appears Mr. Jackson was interested. "Appears" may be the operative word, as a deal was never struck. However, the beginning of a lifelong friendship and partnership was firmly cemented between the two gentlemen.
The initial enterprise was to set the tone for what would become the Barrett-Jackson legacy. It was in 1967 that Barrett and Jackson presented a car show they called, with the appropriate flair, "Fiesta del los Auto Elegance." The event was a fund-raiser for local charities, including the Scottsdale Library.
In 1971, the two combined their talents to present the first classic car auction, featuring classics from their individual collections. Barrett's Mercedes 770 Phaeton chiseled industry headlines, selling for $153,000 and grabbing the attention of collectors worldwide. The sale and the inaugural event thrust the Barrett-Jackson name into international prominence.
The 1980's witnessed the real emergence of the collector car industry, as record prices and record participation were the rule. However, the Barrett-Jackson partnership was not content to ride the wave, as the two men continued to set the standard: Barrett brought the very best and rarest automobiles to the event and earned the reputation as the "Grandfather of the Collector Car Industry," while Jackson expertly collected and restored cars for show. It was during this time, too, that the elder Jackson brought his sons Brian and Craig onto the team, and wife Nellie ran the day-to-day operations of the thriving auction company.
Change has continued to play a role in the internationally acclaimed event. Russ Jackson passed away in 1993, Brian Jackson succumbed to cancer in 1995, and Tom Barrett who retired in 1997 and passed away in April, 2004. Craig Jackson, who had worked actively on a daily basis throughout the year and on-site at the event, took over the reins and led Barrett-Jackson to even greater successes with an aggressive plan of growth, expansion and hi-tech innovations. The auction began airing live on Speedvision in 1997. Internet live bidding was also introduced that same year. A $17 million sale, 65% sales success ratio and over 100,000 spectators marked the 1998 event, as did a cyber-simulcast on the Internet, a bidder liaison service and the introduction of an international-designer fashion show. The 1999 affair featured some $22 million in sales, nearly 800 cars, a +77% sales ratio and 125,000 attendees. In 2007 we had over 1,250 cars with a staggering earning nearly $112 million in sales and over 250,000 attendees.
In 2003, Barrett-Jackson took their famous Collector Car Event across the country Palm Beach, Florida where they introduced a second annual auction. The 2007 Florida event boasted over $32 million in sales, 588 cars and 1,443 bidders.
As the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction races into the future, history and tradition continue to define its role with the collector car industry. As bright and shining as its past, the future of this great event-created out of the common interests of two men-is surely just as sparkling. The first step in the consignment process is filling out a Preliminary Consignment Request Form complete with photos and a copy of your title, front and back.
After we have received the Consignment Request, we will contact you with more information on pricing, estimated value and availability at upcoming auctions.
Also, we do take consignments year-round to our Showroom in Scottsdale, AZ. What is the benefit of going No-Reserve?
NO RESERVE attracts serious bidders. "NO RESERVE" indicates generates auction-block excitement, which typically equates to higher bids. Does the Title have to be in my name to Consign a vehicle?
Yes, unless you are a Dealer. What is Express Check-in?
Express check-in allows you to eliminate the possibility of waiting in long lines. Be smart; follow the express check-in instructions in your consignment packet. Please know where your VIN # is located and verify the VIN matches your title. Can I deliver my car to the auction early?
Yes, we begin accepting early arrivals starting January 5th until January 11th starting at 8am until 5pm.
Checking in early is recommended to avoid long lines and time constraints. Do I have to be there when my car arrives?
If your paperwork is complete it will go through our express check-in. If the paperwork isn't complete your car will then be held in a holding area until your check-in paperwork is completed and your VIN Number verified. Do I have to be there when my car sells?
We encourage either the consignor or their representative to be with the vehicle when going over the auction block After all, who knows your vehicle better than you? You should also be available to answer questions regarding your car's condition and history. Do you have anyone on site that can detail my car?
Yes, there are detailers available on-site that provide this service for a fee. Can I cover my car when it is left in its consignment space?
Yes, but it your responsibility to uncover your vehicle for viewing and maintain control of your cover. Can I bring and display items with my car?
Yes, we encourage such things as copies of documentation and awards to be displayed. However, keep in mind that you have limited space, therefore, be selective about the items you choose to display. Once checked into my assigned location, can I move my vehicle?
No, your vehicle will be assigned a space where it will remain until time to go over the block. Can I drive my car over the auction block?
Yes you may with adherence to all applicable Arizona Motor Vehicle Laws, or we will supply a driver for you. What happens after my car goes over the auction block?
When your car sells it is moved to a dedicated location. Fees
Fees are determined by day and time of your Lot entry and includes tent space.
Payment of fees without a signed contract does not constitute a consignment agreement.
No Guarantees Barrett-Jackson does not guarantee values or prices for particular vehicles. I understand that neither Barrett-Jackson or any agent of Barrett-Jackson can predict the exact time my vehicle will cross the auction block.
